- The next Life is Strange game has been revealed
- Life is Strange: Reunion launches on March 26, 2026
- The game is billed as "the emotional conclusion" of Max and Chloe's story
Square Enix has announced a new entry in the Life is Strange series, with its release just weeks away.
Life is Strange: Reunion is described as "the emotional conclusion of the Max and Chloe saga," which began in 2015 with the original game.
Set after the events of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, the story follows Max Caulfield, now a photography teacher at Caledon University. Upon returning from a weekend trip, she finds the university engulfed in flames and must use her rewind powers, which return from the first game, to escape.
With only three days to uncover the cause of the fire, the situation becomes more complex when her childhood friend and former love interest, Chloe Price, arrives.
For the first time, players will control both Max and Chloe, alternating perspectives as the narrative unfolds.
This installment is developed by American studio Deck Nine, known for Before the Storm, True Colors, and Double Exposure. The original game, along with Life is Strange 2 and the spinoff The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, was created by French developer Don't Nod, which recently released the acclaimed spiritual successor Lost Records: Bloom & Rage.
Life is Strange: Reunion is set to launch on March 26, 2026, for Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Various editions are available for pre-order, including a $59.99 'Twin Pack' that grants immediate access to Double Exposure.
