I'm genuinely upset that this weekend marks the conclusion of Landman season 2. Cami (Demi Moore) has shown unexpected vigor, and Tommy (Billy Bob Thornton) has barely made it through, but it's Angela (Ali Larter) who has truly captured my heart throughout the series.
Now that she and Tommy are officially back together, Angela seems to be more unpredictable than ever. The moment she got a group of seniors intoxicated at their retirement home exercise class and was arrested for threatening the manager, I knew she was the fictional character for me.
Fortunately, Landman season 3 has been confirmed, although we might not see new episodes until 2027. But if Paramount+ has a gap in their schedule, I have the perfect spinoff idea featuring Angela that Larter herself is "game" for.
Paramount+ Needs to Create The Real Housewives of Fort Worth with Angela as the Star
Here's my concept: Paramount should develop a fictional version of the Real Housewives franchise centered around Angela. The series would introduce a cast of local housewives, but the focus would be on Angela as she verbally (and possibly physically) takes them down.
"Amazing, that would be so much fun," Larter told me. "I'm game."
Just watch the above YouTube video to see why she'd be perfect for reality TV. Angela often speaks without a filter, showing little concern for others' opinions or the consequences of her actions. Sometimes, I'm not even sure she's worried about Tommy.
Yet, amidst the chaos, Angela often shares genuine insights during her rants. Her daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) frequently benefits from this wisdom, but does Angela even realize how insightful she can be?
"I think she's just unapologetically herself," Larter reflects. "One of the things I love about playing her is that she really doesn't care about the judgment of others; she lives life by her own rules. That is exciting for me to portray. She's so vibrant and full of life.
"It's easy to retreat into yourself, but she lacks that filter. Even when she's with the seniors – and I have so many great scenes with Michelle, who finds it absurd – why should they just quietly fade away? Give them a margarita. Let them enjoy life. Sometimes, I think she has the right perspective."
Me too, girl, me too. Paramount, please make my spinoff dreams a reality as soon as possible.
