  • The Ozone 3K and Ozone 5K are marketed as the world’s thinnest magnetic power banks
  • At only 4.98mm thick, the Ozone 3K is slimmer than the iPhone Air
  • These power banks are currently available on Kickstarter

While many MagSafe battery packs are compatible with the iPhone Air, their fit may not be perfect due to the phone's unique design. Most options tend to be bulkier, which contradicts the iPhone Air's sleek aesthetic. However, a new contender aims to solve this issue.

Meet the Ozone 3K, boasting a thickness of just 4.98mm, making it potentially the thinnest magnetic power bank available, according to its manufacturer, Kopplen. This is notably slimmer than the official iPhone Air MagSafe Battery, which measures around 7.7mm, and even thinner than the iPhone Air itself at 5.6mm.

Despite its slim profile, the Ozone 3K offers a capacity of 3,000mAh, providing a 62% charge to the iPhone Air. For those needing a full charge, the Ozone 5K is available, though it measures 6.49mm thick.

Compatible Beyond the iPhone Air

While the focus here is on the iPhone Air, both Ozone models are also compatible with other iPhones and Qi2 Android devices. Users with Android phones can benefit from up to 15W of charging power, whereas iPhone users are limited to 7.5W.

Weighing in at 77g for the Ozone 3K and 97g for the 5K, these battery packs are lightweight and reasonably priced. Early bird pricing on Kickstarter starts at $44.99 (approximately £35 / AU$65), down from a standard price of $69.99 (around £50 / AU$105).

Interestingly, both models share the same price point, meaning you won't pay extra for the higher capacity. However, since these are currently on Kickstarter, there's no guarantee they will ship, so you may want to wait for retail availability, albeit at a higher cost.
