How to Watch Winter for Free Online
Winter, the gripping British police procedural starring Richard Armitage and Annabel Scholey, is available to watch for free on ITV1 and ITVX, the broadcaster's online streaming platform. All six episodes are accessible to UK viewers without charge, but you must register a free ITVX account.
You can watch Winter online via the ITVX website or through the ITVX app on iOS and Android devices. ITVX is free to use but geoblocked to viewers in the UK.
Watching Winter Abroad Using a VPN
If you’re outside the UK, ITVX content including Winter may be blocked due to regional restrictions. To access it, use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) service. A VPN masks your IP address and lets you appear as if you’re browsing from the UK, unlocking access to the show.
NordVPN is highly recommended for this purpose. It offers secure, reliable UK servers and frequently runs discounts. Here’s how to use it:
- Install NordVPN on your device.
- Connect to a UK server through the app.
- Visit ITVX and stream Winter as if you were in the UK.
When and Where to Watch Winter in the UK
Winter premieres on ITV1 at 9 pm every Wednesday starting September 30. New episodes air weekly for six weeks. All episodes will also be released on ITVX as a box set from the premiere date, allowing binge-watching.
ITV is a free TV service in the UK, but you need a valid TV License to watch, which covers digital content too.
Can You Watch Winter Outside the UK?
In the US, Winter will eventually be available on PBS Masterpiece, a co-producer of the series, although the release date is yet to be confirmed. Currently, there are no official broadcasts planned for Canada, Australia, or New Zealand.
