Roborock recently unveiled several new robot vacuums at CES 2026, among which is the Saros 20, the successor to the acclaimed Roborock Saros 10R. While the 10R was celebrated as one of the best robot vacuums of 2025, the Saros 20 promises even greater performance.

Both models have sister versions: the Saros 10 and the new Saros 20 Sonic. The main difference lies in the mop pad design; the 10R and 20 feature dual, spinning mop pads, while the 10 and 20 Sonic utilize a D-shaped pad. According to a Roborock representative, the dual spinning mop pads have proven to be the most popular, making the Saros 20 a standout in the new lineup.

Now, let's explore the three most exciting upgrades of the Saros 20...

1. It Can Hover Above Your Carpet

The Saros 20 introduces an enhanced version of Roborock's AdaptiLift feature, allowing it to navigate over taller thresholds. This upgraded model can tackle steps up to 1.77 inches (4.5 cm) high and even double steps totaling 3.34 inches (8.5 cm). Additionally, it can hover at the optimal height for cleaning thick carpets without getting stuck, with eight adjustable height options tailored to carpet thickness, accommodating piles up to 1.18 inches (3 cm).

2. It Will Be Able to Swap Its Mop Pads

While this feature isn't available just yet, the Saros 20 will soon allow users to switch between different mop pads for various cleaning scenarios. It retains the two circular, spinning mop pads that attach magnetically, but Roborock plans to introduce multiple pad types along with a dock that automatically dispenses the appropriate pair. This innovation will enable the robot to efficiently clean without cross-contamination between different areas.

3. The Dock Won't Show Your Grubby Fingerprints

Unlike the glossy dock of the Saros 10R, which easily showed smudges, the Saros 20 features a matte black plastic dock that is more practical for everyday use. This new finish is designed to resist fingerprints, making it a more user-friendly option.

Additional improvements include a significant boost in suction power, with the Saros 20 delivering an impressive 35,000Pa compared to the 20,000Pa of its predecessor. Alongside these upgrades, it retains all the best features of the 10R, such as automatic brush and mop lifting based on floor type, hot water mop pad washing, and warm air drying.

The Roborock Saros 20 is set to begin its international rollout this year, with exact dates and pricing yet to be announced. Stay tuned for a comprehensive review coming soon.
