  • Fans speculate about a possible Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake
  • This follows the unexpected upload of soundtrack songs on Ubisoft's official YouTube channel
  • Ubisoft claims these were simply re-uploaded due to a "technical issue"

Recent developments have sparked renewed speculation regarding the long-anticipated Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake, although the reality may be less thrilling than fans hope.

Last week, we reported that a domain linked to 'Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced', the rumored title of the remake, had been registered through the same French registrar used for many of Ubisoft's domains.

This follows a cryptic comment from Matt Ryan, the voice actor for protagonist Edward Kenway, who reportedly told a fan at the Nightmare Weekend convention in Chicago that they "might have to beat" the game again, adding, "There's a reason I say that, but I can't say anything."

Now, Ubisoft has uploaded several Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag music tracks to its official Ubisoft Music YouTube channel. This has led many fans to believe it could signal an upcoming announcement, but Ubisoft's statement seems to contradict this theory.

"[Posted] 11 minutes ago? Surely the remake is near," commented one user on one of the tracks. The official account responded, clarifying that: "This album has been available on all music platforms for years, but we encountered a technical issue on YouTube so we just reuploaded it."

This revelation is certainly less exciting than the prospect of a remake tease. However, the company has not outright denied the existence of a remake, and given the ongoing speculation, many still anticipate an announcement soon.
