- It's the (unofficial) year of Styx with a new entry in the series set to launch next month
- There's a free demo available right now on Steam with roughly an hour of gameplay
- Players can also pick up two Styx games at no cost via the Epic Games Store for (almost) the complete Styx experience
It's the (unofficial) year of Styx, and to celebrate, publisher Nacon is offering a Styx extravaganza of freebies for players to enjoy.
This includes the opportunity to grab the two most significant games in the series: Styx: Master of Shadows and Styx: Shards of Darkness, available for free starting today through the Epic Games Store.
Both titles are excellent stealth adventures featuring the sarcastic green goblin Styx, who navigates intricately designed environments on a quest to steal anything he can get his hands on. With magical abilities at your disposal, you can choose to remain hidden in the shadows or confront the guards standing between you and your riches.
The humor delivered by this pint-sized anti-hero may not appeal to everyone, but many find it charming in its unique Styx way.
In the case of Shards of Darkness, players will receive the 'Deluxe Edition,' which includes bonus cosmetics. While these do not affect gameplay, they add a stylish touch.
True Styx fans know that for the complete experience, a copy of Of Orcs and Men (an underrated 2012 action RPG that introduced the character) is also essential. Fortunately, it's currently 90% off on GoG.
Time to Get Greedy
All of this will prepare you for the upcoming release of Styx: Blades of Greed later this year. Set just before the events of Of Orcs and Men, this latest installment introduces a wealth of mysterious new abilities powered by magical quartz.
Scheduled to launch on February 19, 2026, pre-orders are now open for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and Series S.
This week also marks the availability of an exclusive demo on Steam, allowing players to experience roughly the first hour of the game for free, with progress carrying over to the full version.
