Hori Adventure Pack for Nintendo Switch 2: Review

The Nintendo Switch 2 is a significant investment, making protection essential. Enter the Hori Adventure Pack for Nintendo Switch 2, a robust cross-body case officially licensed by Nintendo.

This model stands out due to its adaptable design. It features a built-in handle for traditional carrying, which adjusts as you lift it. Additionally, a strap allows it to be worn like a cross-body bag, with adjustable tightness for comfort. While it may not be the most stylish option, the hands-free capability is a practical advantage. When not in use, the strap conveniently stows away in a mesh pouch on the back, keeping the case looking neat.

A major benefit of the Hori Adventure Pack is its ample storage. While it may be a tight fit for the console, dock, and all cables, it comfortably accommodates the console itself, and the outer pocket is spacious enough for some of the best Nintendo Switch 2 accessories.

Inside, there's a dedicated pouch for your Nintendo Switch 2 with attached Joy-Con 2 controllers. Although the pouch is slightly narrow, a velcro strap secures the console. The case also includes six game cartridge slots, sufficient for short trips.

In terms of aesthetics, the Hori Adventure Pack is decent. It features a rubber-like handle and upper section that looks stylish but can attract dust and marks. The remainder of the case is made from scratch-resistant fabric, and it comes in an understated all-black design.

While it may not be the toughest case available, it still offers solid protection. I dropped it from waist height, and there were no signs of damage.

Regarding value, the case is priced at $34.99 / £26.99 / AU$54.95, which is reasonable given its storage capacity and versatile design. I've seen it discounted to as low as £18.89 in some regions.

In comparison, the official Nintendo Switch 2 Carrying Case retails for $39.99 / £20.99 / AU$39.95, offering less storage. Overall, the Adventure Pack provides excellent value with its unique design and modest price.

Unlike the official Nintendo Switch 2 case, the Hori Adventure Pack offers ample space for accessories, including the Hori USB Camera for Nintendo Switch 2.

Don’t buy it if…

You need room for your Switch 2 dock
While it can fit some accessories, the case is not ideal for housing the dock. For a more comprehensive solution, consider the official Nintendo Switch 2 All-In-One Carrying Case.
