Roland, a renowned name in the music industry, has unveiled its latest addition to the Cube Street series of portable speakers, boasting an impressive set of features at a competitive price.
While the Cube series is tailored for musicians, its popularity extends beyond that demographic, making it a preferred choice for buskers, pop-up venues, and even street preachers.
The newly launched Cube Street Mini is sure to attract a wide range of users, and its Bluetooth capabilities make it perfect for enjoying music at home as well.
Key Features and Pricing of the Roland Cube Street Mini
Roland, the parent company of the acclaimed guitar effects brand Boss, has infused some of its FX expertise into the Cube Street Mini, which includes built-in reverb, delay, and chorus effects. With a power output of 10W, the speaker features a 5-inch woofer and two 0.5-inch tweeters.
This dual-channel system allows simultaneous connection of a microphone and an instrument, ensuring wide sound dispersion. The main channel accommodates a guitar, microphone, or stereo instrument, while the second channel is dedicated to a microphone with an XLR/TRS input.
Bluetooth 5.2 streaming is available, alongside a stereo mini output jack for headphones or connecting to recording devices. The Cube Street Mini also includes an integrated tip-back stand and a carrying handle, with an optional carrying case for added convenience.
This design trend is gaining traction, as seen with the LG Stage 301, which caters to performers, and the upcoming Fender Audio Elie speakers (which received positive feedback from my colleague Matt Bolton at CES), both featuring extensive instrument connection options.
A significant factor contributing to the Cube's popularity is its battery-powered design, allowing performers to operate without needing access to a power outlet. The battery life is a commendable seven hours, with recharging via USB-C.
The Cube Street Mini delivers remarkable volume from a compact design, measuring 274mm wide, 110mm deep, and 192mm high, weighing in at 2.2kg (4.85lbs).
The Cube Street Mini is priced at $199 / £169 (approximately AU$339).
