What Makes the Earfun Wave Pro X Stand Out?
If you're seeking wireless headphones that pack features usually reserved for pricier models, the Earfun Wave Pro X stand out with their robust battery life (up to 90 hours with ANC off), feature-rich companion app, and strong focus on comfort. The 259g build is cushioned and light enough for long listening without fatigue. The level of audio customization available, including a particularly powerful EQ with both presets and advanced manual modes, goes far beyond what’s typical in this segment.
How Do They Sound, and Who Are They For?
The sound signature of the Wave Pro X is tuned toward bass and strong mids, resulting in a punchy but somewhat muddy experience. Treble clarity is a weak point, even with dual drivers (40mm woofer, 10mm tweeter). Most users listening to pop, hip-hop, or podcasts are likely to appreciate the energy and warmth, but audiophiles or classical fans wanting precise separation or sparkle in high frequencies should look elsewhere. Extensive EQ controls allow tailoring, but cannot completely resolve the “closed-in” soundstage and over-emphasis on mids.
Active noise cancellation is effective for routine office, commute, or travel environments. While the ANC is not class-leading—struggling with erratic noises—it is comparable to mid-range options and is supported by multiple ANC modes, though most users will find the default setting sufficient.
Comfort, Design, and Everyday Practicality
The padded headband and earcups make these comfortable even during multi-hour sessions, matching more expensive competitors like the Bose QuietComfort series for comfort. The headphones fold down and include a hard case, making them travel-friendly. Useful hardware touches like physical buttons and a 3.5mm jack add genuine real-world convenience. However, there is no IP water-resistance rating, limiting use when wet conditions are expected.
How Does the Value Compare to Rivals?
Priced at $129.99 (£119.99), the Earfun Wave Pro X undercuts flagship models from Bose, Sony, or Apple, and even some direct competitors like Anker's Soundcore Space 2. While both Soundcore Space 2 and Nothing Headphone (a) offer similar battery life and comfort, Soundcore edges ahead for sound quality and color options, while Nothing offers even longer battery life and splash resistance at a slightly higher price.
- Buy if: You want maximum battery life, comfort, and tweakability; prefer punchy bass/mids for mainstream genres; or seek the most versatile EQ experience at this price.
- Skip if: You prioritize audiophile clarity, plan to use headphones outdoors in rain, or want a more lively, open sound.
Bottom Line: Who Should Buy the Earfun Wave Pro X?
The Earfun Wave Pro X are best for budget-conscious buyers who want comfort, class-leading battery life, and unmatched EQ options—and are willing to accept a muddy, bass-heavy sound signature. They're a strong alternative to mainstream ANC headphones for travel, office, or daily use, so long as pristine audio detail isn’t your main goal.
