  • Austrian Audio unveils The Arranger wired open-back headphones
  • Reference-grade and repairable, more affordable than the flagship The Composer model
  • Priced at £899 (approximately $1,205 / AU$1,795)

Austrian Audio is known for producing exceptional headphones, including the five-star Hi-X20. As noted in our review, the company boasts an impressive track record in delivering affordable over-ear headphones.

Now, the brand is stepping into a relatively mid-range segment with its new model, The Arranger headphones, which are reference-grade audiophile headphones priced significantly lower than the premium The Composer model.

With a price tag of £899 (about $1,205 / AU$1,795), The Arranger aims to fill the gap between the more affordable (£119 for the Hi-X20) and the premium (£2,199 for The Composer) offerings. Austrian Audio claims these headphones provide "more resolution, scale, and refinement than the Hi-X range, while remaining more accessible than The Composer in terms of price and system requirements."

While £899 may still be considered premium by many, it positions The Arranger as a mid-range option for audiophiles.

Austrian Audio The Arranger headphones: key features and price

The Arranger features an open-back, over-ear design equipped with a newly developed 44mm dynamic driver. This driver incorporates a diamond-like carbon-coated diaphragm for enhanced rigidity and a proprietary ring magnet system, ensuring fast transient response, low distortion, and consistent linearity.

Designed for longevity, The Arranger headphones are easy to service, with all key wear components, including ear pads and headband, being user-replaceable. The ear pads are crafted from soft leatherette, and the lightweight metal frame features robust hinges. Weighing in at just 310g, these headphones promise comfort for extended listening sessions.

With a frequency range of 5Hz to 30kHz, an impedance of 25 ohms, and a sensitivity of 110 dB, The Arranger connects via a 4-pin symmetrical socket, compatible with the supplied TRS cable as well as optional balanced cables with 4.4mm and 5-pin XLR connections.

The Arranger will be available in the UK starting February 2026, priced at £899 (approximately $1,205 / AU$1,795).
