  • Spotify is introducing another price hike for members in the US, Estonia, and Latvia, effective February.
  • Individual Premium plans will rise from $11.99 to $12.99.
  • This marks the third price increase for Spotify in three years, following the last change in July 2024.

Another price hike is on the horizon for Spotify Premium members, set to take effect in February.

Users in the US, Latvia, and Estonia will be the first to experience this increase, which may come as a shock, especially for new subscribers.

Starting from their next billing date, US members will now pay $13 a month, while updated prices for Estonia and Latvia are available on Spotify’s sign-up page.

The last price adjustment for US users occurred in July 2024, when the Premium tier increased from $10.99 to $11.99 a month.

With the upcoming change, Individual Premium fees will rise from $11.99 to $12.99 a month. Additionally, the Duo Premium plan will increase by $2, from $16.99 to $18.99, and the Family plan will go from $19.99 to $21.99. Even the Student tier will see a hike, increasing from $5.99 to $6.99.

Are we surprised by this latest price hike? Not entirely. In November 2025, predictions indicated that another increase was expected for US Premium subscribers in early 2026, based on a report from the Financial Times. At that time, we anticipated it, but the specific tiers affected and their new fees were unclear.

So, why is Spotify raising its prices again? Many attribute it to Spotify Lossless, which is one of the platform's most significant upgrades. Alongside Lossless, Spotify has introduced various tools to enhance user experience, which have led to increased operational costs.

As we enter 2026, there’s no doubt that Spotify has more surprises planned this year, including the recent trial launch of the new Prompted Playlist feature in New Zealand. How long will it be before other regions face similar price hikes?
