- OnePlus has launched the OnePlus Turbo series
- Highlights include 9,000mAh batteries and high refresh rates
- These budget gaming phones are currently announced for China, with a potential global launch later
Following a teaser last month, the OnePlus Turbo 6 and OnePlus Turbo 6V have been officially revealed, promising impressive battery life and gaming performance at a competitive price.
Both models feature a substantial 9,000mAh battery, surpassing the 7,300mAh capacity of the OnePlus 15. They support fast charging at up to 80W, and despite their large batteries, they maintain a slim profile at just 8.5mm thick.
In terms of durability, both phones boast significant water resistance with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, protecting against splashes, submersion, and high-pressure water jets. Camera-wise, they are equipped with a 50MP main camera, a 2MP monochrome sensor, and a 16MP front-facing camera.
A Difference in Power
While both phones share some features, the OnePlus Turbo 6 is the more advanced model. It comes with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and a Fengchi Game Kernel that can enhance gaming performance to 165fps. Additionally, it offers up to 512GB of storage and a 6.78-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate.
On the other hand, the OnePlus Turbo 6V is powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, with up to 12GB of RAM, also offering up to 512GB of storage and a 6.78-inch display, but with a slightly lower 144Hz refresh rate.
Neither model is particularly high-end aside from their battery and display specifications, but with their large batteries and high refresh rates, they are expected to perform well in gaming scenarios.
Currently, these phones are confirmed for the Chinese market, with the OnePlus Turbo 6 priced at CNY 2,300 (approximately $330 / £245 / AU$490), while the Turbo 6V starts at CNY 1,900 (around $270 / £200 / AU$410). If pricing remains similar globally, they could be very affordable options.
