At CES 2026, I encountered numerous innovative gadgets, but the standout for me was an unexpected offering from IKEA.
The Swedish home goods giant unveiled its latest creations at the Las Vegas event, including a smart donut lamp and a compact portable speaker, but it was the larger speaker that truly caught my eye.
The SOLSKYDD collection features three disc-shaped Bluetooth speakers. The largest model, measuring 11 inches (29 cm) in diameter, is designed for wall mounting, while the medium (18 inches / 45 cm) and small (8 inches / 19 cm) versions come with removable pedestal bases, allowing for versatile placement.
These speakers can be mounted on walls, placed on a sideboard, or used without the stand for portability. An IKEA designer demonstrated how it could elegantly rest on a coffee table, resembling a chic art piece while delivering sound.
The press release emphasizes that the range was created with the philosophy that sound products should enhance a room's character, even when not in use. They certainly made an impression in the living room demo suite.

While circular speakers are not a novel concept, IKEA has infused its signature style into these models, all while maintaining affordability. The speakers became available globally in December 2025, priced at $89 / £29 for the small, $100 / £50 for the medium, and $140 / £80 for the large.
While you might not expect top-tier sound quality or advanced features at this price point, these speakers offer more than just basic functionality. Each model includes three sound modes for different listening experiences, including one optimized for podcasts.
Control is straightforward, either through a companion app or via physical buttons on the speaker for volume adjustment, play/pause, and mode switching. You can also connect multiple speakers from the same range or compatible IKEA products for a more immersive audio experience.
My personal favorite is the elegant off-white version, but if you're looking for something more colorful, there are two vibrant, patterned designs created in collaboration with designer and color expert Teklan.
