Obsidian's Avowed is the latest title from Xbox Game Studios making its way from Xbox Series X|S to PS5.
According to IGN, gameplay director Gabriel Paramo and lead character artist Dimitri Berman discussed Avowed's upcoming anniversary update during an interview at the New Game+ Showcase.
The game is set to launch on PS5 on February 17, 2026, coinciding with the release of the anniversary update. Pre-orders for the PS5 version have also gone live today.
Avowed joins a growing list of Xbox Game Studios titles available on PS5, including popular games like Forza Horizon 5, Sea of Thieves, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Upcoming titles such as Forza Horizon 6 and Halo: Campaign Evolved are also expected to arrive on the platform.
The anniversary update promises significant enhancements, including a photo mode, New Game Plus, new playable races, and various quality-of-life improvements.
I thoroughly enjoyed Avowed during my review last year, appreciating Obsidian's exceptional writing and the beautiful open environments. The anniversary edition seems like a perfect opportunity to explore the game with a new character.
