My rating for this puzzle: Hard

I made two mistakes while playing. Initially, I thought there was a group related to different types of tops, but I quickly realized I was mistaken. My second error involved a group linked by the word 'back', which included DROP, PACK, TEAM, and CREW.

However, I did enjoy a moment of triumph when I recalled some equestrian gear from watching Seabiscuit.

What is NYT Connections?

NYT Connections is a popular word game from the New York Times that challenges players to identify groups of four items sharing a common theme. Each group varies in difficulty, with green being the easiest and purple the most challenging.

While you don't need to solve the final group, you can deduce it through elimination. Players are allowed up to four mistakes, providing some leeway.

This game is more complex than Wordle and includes various tricks, such as homophones that may obscure the answers.

You can play it for free on the NYT Games site on both desktop and mobile.
