- Eversolo has released the SE100 passive bookshelf speakers
- Hardware and specs fit for audiophiles
- They’re designed to fit in Ikea Kallax shelves
At the recent tech showcase CES 2026, the spotlight was on the affordable $9.99 Ikea Kallsup, a speaker meant for mass use. However, Eversolo's new passive speakers demonstrate a more sophisticated integration with Ikea furniture.
Known for its high-fidelity products like DACs and amplifiers, Eversolo has ventured into the speaker market with the SE100. These passive bookshelf speakers come in pairs, ensuring they complement each other rather than stand alone.
The SE100 boasts impressive specifications, including a 5.25-inch paper-pulp cone for rich sound, a 25mm silk dome for clarity, and a removable fabric grille designed to minimize diffraction, making them “acoustically invisible” according to Eversolo. However, many might prefer to remove the grille to showcase the striking offset drivers.
According to Eversolo, the SE100 is engineered to create a holographic soundstage, even though they are wired and meant to be used with an amplifier, limiting their spread.
The Ideal Bookshelf Speakers for Ikea Kallax
The SE100 is specifically designed to fit into Ikea's Kallax shelving units, which feature a grid-style layout for organizing items. These speakers fit snugly into the compartments without leaving any gaps.
Ikea offers a variety of speakers, from budget-friendly Bluetooth options to those integrated into furniture. However, the SE100 is unique in being tailored for the Kallax system, unlike the portable Kallsup speakers.
Even for those who don’t shop at Ikea, the SE100's design makes them a stylish addition to any space.
While a release date is yet to be announced, they are expected to launch in 2026 at a price of $399 (approximately $300, AU$600). This price point is competitive within the high-fidelity market. We’ll see if they make it to our best stereo speakers list when they arrive.
Kallax units vary in price, starting from around $25 for small models to larger configurations with integrated tables or TV stands.
